East Texas Baptist University participated in its eighth annual Operation Christmas Child, an outreach program organized by Samaritan’s Purse. The ministry involves filling shoeboxes with small toys, school supplies, and other items that are sent to children all over the world as a Christmas gift and a tangible reminder of God’s love for them.

East Texas Baptist University honored 91 graduating seniors with the presentation of their official ETBU Class Ring. The Ring Blessing was held Wednesday, November 15, for the December graduates of 2023. Inspired by Deuteronomy 6, the class ring allows ETBU Alumni to carry and display the love of Christ.

On Wednesday, November 8, East Texas Baptist University welcomed an assembly of ETBU retirees, Legacy of 1912 Society Members, and Endowed Scholarship Donors to the campus for the annual Legacy of 1912 Society Luncheon.

East Texas Baptist University faculty, staff, and students gathered on the University grounds to plant trees and contribute to the beautification of campus on the official Texas State Arbor Day. While National Arbor Day occurs in late April, Texas Arbor Day takes place on the first Friday in November due to cooler temperatures across the state. ETBU observes Texas Arbor Day to provide a unique opportunity for students to be involved with the tree-planting process.

B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary, which will officially become a part of East Texas Baptist University in late 2024, is making a move from its offices in Irving to the location where it originally began—in downtown Arlington, Texas.

The seminary’s offices will occupy a floor of First Baptist Church’s Wade Building, a six-story office building adjacent to the church’s main campus. The move also means B. H. Carroll’s annual Ph.D. colloquies, graduations, and other conferences will be held on site, for the first time since it left the location for Irving in 2015.
