ETBU Women’s Soccer travels to the mission field of Costa Rica

The East Texas Baptist University Women’s Soccer Team traveled to Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica from Saturday, March 9 through Saturday, March 16 as a part of the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME) program. Led by Head Coach Kristin Cox and Director of the Great Commission Center and Global Education Lisa Seeley, the group of 30 student-athletes and University staff partnered with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) to share the Gospel through sport clinics, international soccer games, personal testimony, and Bible distributions.

ETBU Hockey Team serves in Slovakia

The East Texas Baptist University Hockey Team traveled to Slovakia from Wednesday, January 2 through Saturday, January 12 as a part of the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME) program. Led by Head Coach Alain Savage, ETBU Vice President for Athletics Ryan Erwin, and Director of the Great Commission Center and Global Education Lisa Seeley, the group of 22 partnered with International Sports Federation (ISF) to minister to the people of Slovakia.

ETBU Volleyball serves in Eastern Europe through TAME

The East Texas Baptist University Volleyball Team spent Spring Break in Eastern Europe as a part of the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME) program. The group of 16, led by Vice President for Athletics Ryan Erwin and his wife, Kristy, along with Head Volleyball Coach Keely Peterson, partnered with two ETBU alumni currently serving overseas. Through TAME, the Tigers were enabled to engage in outreach by hosting volleyball clinics, teaching English, and competing with local club teams.

ETBU Baseball travels to the Dominican Republic

The East Texas Baptist University Baseball team traveled to the Dominican Republic (DR) on Sunday, December 10 through Sunday, December 17 as a part of the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME) program.  Fifty-one student-athletes engaged in sports ministry with clinics for children and neighborhood renewal with home improvements. The Tigers also played four games, including two games against Dominican winter league teams and two Dominican national teams.

ETBU Softball cultivates Costa Rica for Christ

East Texas Baptist University's Softball Team traveled to Costa Rica December 10-17 to participate in the first-ever Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME). These Tigers, some of which had never been on a mission trip, others out of the United States, or a few even on an airplane, overcame fear, anxiety, and the unknown to cultivate the Word of God and His hope through Christ while using their God-given athletic talents.
