East Texas Baptist University and B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary Merge Following SACSCOC Approval

East Texas Baptist University and B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary are pleased to announce their official merger, following approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The SACSCOC Board of Trustees approved ETBU’s Substantive Merger/Level Change prospectus, endorsing the integration of B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary into ETBU. With this approval, ETBU expands its status as a Level VI institution of higher learning with no further reporting required.

CSWA Honors Maddox as Honda D3 Athlete of the Year

Tristen Maddox, the standout shortstop from East Texas Baptist University's Softball team, has etched her name in NCAA Division III history. She has been honored as the NCAA Division III Athlete of the Year, a prestigious accolade announced today by the Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) and Honda. Maddox's achievement marks a significant milestone, as she becomes the fifth softball player to earn this recognition in the 35-year history of the award.

ETBU Men's Basketball Embarks on Transformative Mission Trip to Roatan, Honduras

The East Texas Baptist University Men's Basketball team departed Texas for Roatan, Honduras, for ETBU's Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME). This marks the 20th trip for the ETBU Athletic Department's TAME initiative and the second international mission for the men's basketball team. Partnering with the International Sports Federation (ISF) for the week, the team conducted basketball clinics, collaborated with local ministries, and played three basketball games.

ETBU Claims 2024 NCAA Division III Softball National Championship

On the final day of the NCAA Division III Softball National Championship on the campus of East Texas Baptist University, No. 2-seeded ETBU erupted for 17 runs, including five home runs securing the program's second national championship. With the wins Wednesday at Jason Bell Park at Taylor Field, it is the first time in modern-day history that a team has hosted and won the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. ETBU Softball to Compete for National Title at Jason Bell Park 

The East Texas Baptist University Softball team punched its ticket to the 2024 NCAA Division III Softball National Championship with the NCAA Marshall Super Regional victory last week. The team will compete for the national title on the Tigers' home field as ETBU is hosting the National Championship in Marshall, May 30 - June 5, at Jason Bell Park at Taylor Field.
