Listening Dinner provides partnership opportunities for local churches

Staff members and volunteers from 19 churches in and around Harrison county gathered at East Texas Baptist University in March for a listening dinner hosted by the ETBU School of Christian Studies and Humanities. The purpose of the meeting was to talk through some of the needs that East Texas churches have, with an ultimate goal to use ETBU’s resources to address area churches’ needs through programs like the Certificate in Ministry, weekend seminars, or other specialized training to equip people for service in their churches.

East Texas Baptist University presents lecture: “College of Marshall to ETBU”

ETBU Provost and Vice President Thomas Sanders, in partnership with the Harrison County Historical Museum, presented the story of East Texas Baptist University and how it came to be at Memorial City Hall on Friday, March 25. The lecture was part of the Harrison County Historical Museum’s Journey Stories Lecture Series sponsored by the Jonesville Foundation.

East Texas Baptist University students use spring break to minister to others

A group of East Texas Baptist University Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) student leaders spent their spring break at South Padre Island, Texas, from March 4 through March 11 as a part of Beach Reach, an annual evangelism initiative to share the hope of Jesus by providing free food and transportation to college student beach visitors.
