ETBU’s clinical lab science program receives recommendation for accreditation

East Texas Baptist University’s clinical laboratory science program has achieved recommendation for accreditation with the National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). NAACLS provides international accreditation and approval of educational programs in the clinical laboratory sciences and healthcare-related disciplines. The NAACLS Accreditation process is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

East Texas Baptist University takes on new role with Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship

East Texas Baptist University is partnering with the Cargill family to help facilitate the Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship program. Jerry and Jack Cargill founded the scholarship to honor their mother, Polly Cargill, and support nursing students in their journey to become competent, equipped, compassionate health care workers. Since its inception 19 years ago, the Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship has provided financial aid to 60 nursing students from schools across the East Texas region, including East Texas Baptist.

ETBU celebrates Spring 2021 Class at commencement services

East Texas Baptist University held three Spring Commencement ceremonies to honor the 2021 spring graduates on Saturday, May 8, at 9:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. ETBU President J. Blair Blackburn presided over the ceremonies as 190 students received undergraduate degrees and 21 earned graduate degrees, for a total of 211 graduates. The Spring 2021 graduating class marks the largest in University history.

East Texas Baptist University held an observance of the annual National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 6. The 2021 national theme was “Lord, Pour Out Your Love, Life, Liberty” and based on the Scripture found in 2 Corinthians 3:17. ETBU’s COVID vaccine clinic yields more vaccinated citizens in Harrison County

Nearly 200 COVID-19 vaccines were administered on campus last week during a free clinic hosted by East Texas Baptist University in conjunction with the Texas Division of Emergency Management. Harrison County community members, as well as University friends and family, were encouraged to stop by the clinic for convenient and easy access to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
