ETBU Men’s Soccer Travels to Spain and Portugal through the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience

The East Texas Baptist University's Men's Soccer Team traveled to Spain and Portugal March 10-18 for the University's fifteenth Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME) trip. The Tigers partnered with the International Sports Federation (ISF), served alongside the International Mission Board (IMB) missionaries in Madrid, Spain, and worked directly with Cru in Lisbon, Portugal.

ETBU’s Symphonic Band and Concert Choir perform concert tour in Israel

The East Texas Baptist University Symphonic Band and Concert Choir traveled to Israel as part of the Global Study and Serve Program from Tuesday, March 7 through Friday, March 17. The concert tour was led by ETBU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Thomas Sanders, Dean of the School of Communication and Performing Arts Justin Hodges, Director of Bands Nathan Phillips, College Organist Cathy DeRousse, and Assistant Professor of Music Lynette Vincent. The group of 52 students and faculty performed at and toured historical and cultural sites throughout Israel.

Beach Reach 2023

East Texas Baptist University students minister at Beach Reach during spring break

East Texas Baptist University sent 26 Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) student leaders to South Padre Island, Texas, from Saturday, March 11, through Friday, March 17, 2023, as part of Beach Reach. Joining 1,017 other "Beach Reachers" from around the region, the students served 18,737 pancakes, gave 17,765 safe rides, had 9,670 gospel conversations, and prayed with 7,229 people, according to Texas Baptists (BGCT). Over the two weeks, the Beach Reach mission efforts resulted in 183 salvations, 91 recommitments to Christ, and 49 baptisms on the beach.

ETBU hosts Congreso Experience for Hispanic Students in East Texas

East Texas Baptist University hosted a Congreso Experience on Saturday, February 18 in partnership with Texas Baptists (BGCT).

“Texas Baptists Congreso collaborates with universities like East Texas Baptist University, to reach the next generation for Christ by equipping them with tools and resources to share the gospel,” said David Gonzalez, Congreso Coordinator for Texas Baptists. “Students are able to get a taste of what the main Congreso event has to offer by attending this free one-day event.”
