MARSHALL, Texas (3/29/16) – East Texas Baptist University announces an increase in enrollment for the spring 2016 semester. A total of 1,148 students are enrolled at ETBU, which is a 1.8 % increase over last year’s enrollment of 1,107.

ETBU also experienced a significant increase in Graduate students with a record enrollment of 86 in Master’s programs. This is a 34.4% increase over Spring 2015.

MARSHALL, Texas (3/28//16) – East Texas Baptist University President Dr. J. Blair Blackburn announces the appointment of Dr. Tommy Sanders as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

MARSHALL, Texas (3/24/16) – East Texas and Northwest Louisiana will welcome collegiate ice hockey to the region as East Texas Baptist University announces the addition of a varsity club team for the 2016-17 year. ETBU has engaged in a partnership with the Shreveport MudBugs based on an agreement made by ETBU President Dr. J. Blair Blackburn and MudBugs General Manager Scott "Muskey" Muscutt. 

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (3/24/16) - Marshall attorney Michael Smith has been named the Sam B. Hall Civic Service Award on Tuesday at East Texas Baptist University.

Smith received the award during the sixth annual Sam B. Hall Dinner and Lecture at the university that honors the memory of the former Marshall attorney, judge, ETBU alum and congressman.

Hall served in the U.S. Army, as an U.S. Rep., an U.S. District Court Judge, a Marshall ISD trustee and the Harrison County Farm Bureau.
