East Texas Baptist University held its annual Convocation Chapel service on Wednesday, September 10, welcoming students, faculty, and staff into Baker Chapel for a time of worship, prayer, and commissioning to officially launch the 2025-2026 academic year. East Texas Baptist University welcomed Dr. Eric Black to campus on Wednesday, September 18, as guest speaker for the midweek Chapel service. Dr. Black, the Executive Director, Publisher, and Editor of the Baptist Standard, delivered a message to the ETBU students, faculty, and staff, drawing from his extensive background in ministry, media, and theological education.

Julio Guarneri, Executive Director-elect of the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT), visited East Texas Baptist University on Monday, September 25, to deliver a special message during the weekly chapel service in Baker Chapel at the Rogers Spiritual Life Center. Guarneri, the lead pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen and first Hispanic individual to serve as executive director for the BGCT, challenged the campus community to reclaim the insurmountable peace only found through faith in Christ.
