ETBU hosts Great Opening Ceremony of The Great Commission Center

East Texas Baptist University welcomed generous donors and friends of the institution in celebration of the opening of the newly-constructed Great Commission Center during a ceremony held Friday, April 28. The new home to the Fred Hale School of Business, Career Development Office, and Great Commission Center program, the Great Commission Center will be a center for academic learning and discipleship training.

East Texas Baptist University faculty, staff, donors, and supporters gathered on Friday, October 15, to bless the foundation of the Great Commission Center. The ceremony included a time of prayer, worship, and a sacred time of dedication for the transformative learning facility and discipleship training center.

East Texas Baptist University reaches Mabee Challenge Grant goal of $6M

Thanks to the generosity of ETBU alumni and friends of the University, East Texas Baptist University has raised more than $6,000,000 for the Great Commission Center campaign. In the summer of 2020, ETBU received a $1,500,000 challenge grant from the J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation, requiring the University to raise $6,000,000 by mid-July 2021, in order to receive the challenge grant funds. The goal has officially been met, allowing the University to receive the challenge grant from the J. E. and L.E.

ETBU makes the final push for Mabee Foundation grant

In January of 2020, the East Texas Baptist University Board of Trustees unanimously voted to launch a fundraising campaign to construct a 23,000 square feet facility, the Great Commission Center, which will be the future home to the Fred Hale School of Business, the Great Commission Program, and the Office of Career Development. In the summer of 2020, ETBU received a $1,500,000 challenge grant from the J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation, requiring the University to raise $6,000,000 by July 1, 2021, in order to receive the $1,500,000 challenge grant funds.
