ETBU Hosts Second Induction of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society

In March, 68 East Texas Baptist University students were inducted into the prestigious Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society (ALD). ALD is a national honor society that distinguishes first-year academic success, with invitations to join only extended to students who obtain a 3.5 GPA or higher during the first semester of their freshman year. ALD holds over 280 chapters nationwide, with over one million students initiated.

Bonnie Strauss and Vernia Calhoun recognized at ETBU Good Samaritan Luncheon

East Texas Baptist University held its annual Good Samaritan Luncheon on Wednesday, March 2. Inspired by the parable in Luke 10:25-37, Bonnie Strauss and Vernia Calhoun were selected and recognized with the Good Samaritan Award for their display of servant leadership in Marshall. In honor of the Christian principle of being a Good Samaritan, the award acknowledges those that embody the greatest commandment of loving your neighbor as yourself.

Footloose headlines ETBU Spring 2022 theatre season

The ETBU Department of Music and Theatre Arts kicked off the spring theatre season with a production of Footloose, the lively story of a high school troublemaker’s quest to teach a small town how to dance, live on stage February 24 - 27 at Memorial City Hall. Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Natalie Wilson made her directorial and chorographical debut at ETBU, and the cast admired her strengths of vision and excitement.

East Texas Baptist University finds rest and connection through 2022 Spiritual Renewal

As the busyness of the spring semester picks up, East Texas Baptist University held its annual Spiritual Renewal activities on campus with worship services and through prayer and reflection with the extended ETBU family the week of February 21. This year’s theme, “Still,” was inspired by Psalm 46:10: "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"
