ETBU’s School of Communication and Performing Arts presents “The Women of Lockerbie”

The School of Communication and Performing Arts at East Texas Baptist University invites you to enjoy an evening of poetic drama with “The Women of Lockerbie.” There will be two weekends of shows, October 17-19 and October 24-26, in Jenna Guest Music Building’s Black Box Theatre. The first weekend aligns with ETBU Homecoming, so students and alumni are encouraged to bring their families and friends to enjoy the play.

Mackenzie Lawrence crowned as 69th Miss ETBU

East Texas Baptist University hosted the 69th annual Miss ETBU Pageant on Saturday, September 27, in Baker Chapel at the Rogers Spiritual Life Center. Mackenzie Lawrence, a senior nursing major, was crowned 2025 Miss ETBU. One of the University’s oldest and most cherished traditions, the Miss ETBU Pageant highlights students who exemplify Christian character, poise, and scholarship. The winner serves as an ambassador for ETBU, representing the University both on campus and in the community.

ETBU nursing students blessed by Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship

East Texas Baptist University honored students from the Teague School of Nursing with the Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship, generously provided by the Jerry and Jack Cargill family in partnership with ETBU. A total of 27 local students were recognized during a special reception held on September 24 at the Marshall Grand, with 21 recipients representing ETBU’s nursing program.

Sweeney, noted scholar of Great Awakening and American Evangelicalism, in Arlington Nov. 17-18

Douglas Sweeney, dean of Beeson Divinity School of Samford University and author of The American Evangelical Story and numerous works on revivalist Jonathan Edwards, will be the keynote speaker at B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary’s Frank and Pauline Patterson Fall Lecture Series, Nov. 17-18, 2025, in Arlington.
