On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, East Texas Baptist University President J. Blair Blackburn was presented with the Veretta and Jesse E. ETBU Students Represent Norway at Model United Nations Conference in Chicago

Eight students from East Texas Baptist University recently participated in the American Model United Nations (AMUN) International Collegiate Conference in Chicago, Illinois, from November 23 to 26, 2024. Representing Norway, the delegation demonstrated their diplomatic acumen and preparation in one of the most highly regarded United Nations simulations in the nation.

ETBU’s Teague School of Nursing Awarded Over $333,000 to Address Nursing Shortage and Enhance Training

East Texas Baptist University’s Teague School of Nursing has received two significant grants to bolster its efforts to address the critical nursing shortage and enhance nursing education. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board awarded $322,236.33 in Nursing Shortage Reduction Program (NSRP) funds, while the East Texas Communities Foundation granted $11,237.26 from the Betty and Roy Erickson Grant for Nursing Fund.

East Texas Baptist University Confers 202 Graduates during Fall Commencement

On Saturday, December 7, East Texas Baptist University celebrated the achievements of 202 graduates at its commencement ceremonies in Baker Chapel of the Rogers Spiritual Life Center. Guided by the University's President, Dr. J. Blair Blackburn, the ceremony marked the conferral of degrees to 140 undergraduate and 62 graduate students. The event was filled with Scripture readings, songs of praise and worship, heartfelt prayers, and blessings bestowed upon the graduates.

East Texas Baptist University celebrated Commencement on December 7, featuring The Honorable Joe Manchin, United States Senator for West Virginia, as the keynote speaker. The ceremony, held in Baker Chapel of the Rogers Spiritual Life Center, honored the achievements of ETBU's graduating class and inspired attendees with Senator Manchin’s message of leadership, service, and perseverance.
