Shelby Nallin receives ETBU Senior Girl Call-Out 2021

Shelby Nallin of Bossier City, Louisiana was recognized on Friday, April 16, during East Texas Baptist University’s 74th annual Senior Girl Call-Out. Selected by a faculty and staff vote, the individual “called out” each year is distinguished for her exemplary Christian character, social consciousness, personal poise, academic achievement, and spiritual vision. Senior Girl Call-Out is ETBU’s longest-standing tradition, and this year’s in-person ceremony was highly treasured by the seniors after last year’s event was held virtually.

Phi Theta Kappa names ETBU to 2021 Transfer Honor Roll

East Texas Baptist University was recently named to Phi Theta Kappa’s 2021 Transfer Honor Roll. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), an honor society for two-year colleges, recognizes the importance of institutional commitment and investment of resources to support transfer students. The PTK Transfer Honor Roll acknowledges excellence and success in transfer pathway development.

On Wednesday, March 17, East Texas Baptist University along with the T.B. Maston Foundation hosted the annual T.B. Maston Lecture Series. The T.B. Maston Foundation’s mission is to promote the legacy of Dr. Thomas Buford Maston, a lifelong advocate for the deeper understanding and wider application of the life and ethical teachings of Jesus Christ.

The ETBU Family unites in celebration of Spiritual Renewal

East Texas Baptist University celebrated its annual Spiritual Renewal activities on campus with worship services and through prayer and reflection with the extended ETBU family the week of February 15. This year’s theme, “Unite,” was inspired by Paul’s call for unity and restoration with God and one another found in 2 Corinthians 13:11, “Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.”
