ETBU Honors Project Program Experiencing Growth This Spring Semester

MARSHALL, Texas (2/19/15) - The East Texas Baptist University Honors Project program has its largest group of students this semester than ever before.  A total of nine students from seven different academic departments are involved in the honors project endeavor. 

An Honors Project is designed to allow ETBU students the opportunity to conduct advanced research in their chosen discipline.

ETBU Group Plans Activities Feb. 26 to Highlight African-American History

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (2/4/15) - The Cultural Outreach Ministries group at East Texas Baptist University is sponsoring its annual African-American Read-In at 6 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Ornelas Student Center on the campus of ETBU.

Don Ravenell, sponsor of the ministries group, said the read-in is open to the public.

"This program is dedicated to the history, arts, literature, traditions and food of African-American culture," Ravenell said.

The event is part of the celebration of Black History Month.

POSTPONED: Judge Sam B. Hall Jr. Lecture Series and Banquet, February 23, at ETBU

MARSHALL, Texas  (2/02/15) - The 20th Annual Sam B. Hall Jr. Lecture and Banquet will be held on Monday, February 23, at 7:00 p.m. in the Phillips Great Room on the ground floor of the Bennett Student Commons at East Texas Baptist University. The lecture series program commemorates the late United States Representative and federal judge Sam B. Hall, Jr., who was a Marshall native and an alumnus of the College of Marshall, which is now ETBU.

Strike Out Cancer Series

SOFTBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (2/19/15) - Hosting their annual Strike Out Cancer series the East Texas Baptist University softball team will have their even on Sunday, February 22nd, at 2:00 p.m.  ETBU will play Chapman University (Calif.) at Taylor Field.

ETBU: Students Experience Spiritual Renewal

BAPTIST STANDARD-  (2/13/15) - Because East Texas Baptist University is a private Christian university, many people assume nearly all the students who go here are Christian. Not necessarily.

Some choose ETBU because the school offers them an opportunity to participate in athletics. Many students attend ETBU to get a great education in an environment where there is more one-on-one interaction with professors. They don't all come here because they want to know more about God.
