ETBU Releases 2015 Fall Dean’s List with Honors and Dean’s List

MARSHALL, Texas (1/15/16) – East Texas Baptist University announces students for outstanding academic achievement during the 2015 Fall Semester. Listed below are the names of students earning recognition to the ETBU Dean’s List with Honors and Dean’s List. Students are sorted in alphabetical order by home town. 

The Dean’s List with Honors are students who have a 3.5 grade point average or above. The Dean’s List is students who have a 3.25 to 3.49 grade point average.

Eargle Heading to FCS Program; Walden Named New Coach

FOOTBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (1/13/16) - An ending with a new, bright beginning is taking place within the East Texas Baptist University football program as Joshua Eargle announces his resignation handing over the reigns to young assistant coach Scotty Walden. Eargle is leaving ETBU to take a position at Austin Peay State University as the run coordinator and offensive line coach for the NCAA Division I FCS program.

Tiger Football Players Named All-Americans

FOOTBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (1/11/16) - Receiving one last award before the college football season ends, the East Texas Baptist University football had five players gain recognition from the USA Football Network with two being All-Americans. Josh Warbington and Kendall Roberson were named to the All-American team for NCAA Division III while C.J. Johnson, Tony Jones, and Bryston Parker made it onto the All-American Rookie Team.

ETBU Professor Teaches Conducting Masterclass in Finland

MARSHALL, Texas (1/09/16) - One East Texas Baptist University Department of Music professor will travel a great distance in order to make the first day of spring classes on Monday (Jan.11). ETBU Director of Bands Mark Crim has spent the first full week of 2016 in Mikkeli, Finland conducting the Mikkelin Kaupunginorchesteri (St. Michel String Orchestra) and serving as faculty for the conducting masterclass there.

Lady Tiger Basketball Undefeated in Conference Play

BASKETBALL (W): BROWNWOOD, Texas (2/7/16) - A last second defensive effort and clutch shooting along with three players scoring in double figures helped the East Texas Baptist University women's basketball team to a six point win, 77-71, over Howard Payne University. It was ETBU's first win in Brownwood, Texas, since 2000-01 as they improved to 10-2 overall and remained undefeated in American Southwest Conference play at 4-0.
