Off the field experience pushing Hollingshead, ETBU Tigers

ETBU's Kaitlyn Hollingshead has spent a lot of time on the softball field where many memories stand out, like as a freshman, when her team won on back-to-back walk off homers in Super Regionals or last year when she hit two home runs against UT-Dallas.

However, her favorite memory on the softball field occurred when she and her Tiger teammates were on a mission trip in Costa Rica and has less to do with the game itself.

ETBU Softball cultivates Costa Rica for Christ

East Texas Baptist University's Softball Team traveled to Costa Rica December 10-17 to participate in the first-ever Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME). These Tigers, some of which had never been on a mission trip, others out of the United States, or a few even on an airplane, overcame fear, anxiety, and the unknown to cultivate the Word of God and His hope through Christ while using their God-given athletic talents.

New Tiger Athletic Mission Experience program empowers ETBU Softball to share God’s love in Costa Rica

ETBU Softball will travel to Costa Rica December 10-17 as part of a newly established ETBU Tiger Athletic Mission Experience program. The primary goal of this new program is to give student athletes the opportunity to spread the Gospel of Christ through sports evangelism. The team will spend time distributing Bibles, doing construction, and serving at a school and orphanage. The ETBU Softball Team will host a softball camp for youth in the area, and, as a bonus, play two exhibition games against the Costa Rican National Team.
