ETBU hosts annual Spiritual Renewal event for campus community

East Texas Baptist University recently concluded its annual Spiritual Renewal 2024 event, held on campus from January 29 to January 31. The event featured guest speaker Lance Shumake, Teaching Pastor and Elder for Crosspoint Community Church in Rockwall, Texas, along with Music Minister David Berryhill (’94) from First Baptist Church of Kilgore, who led worship alongside ETBU’s student worship band. The event’s theme, "All Things New," drew inspiration from Isaiah 43:16-19.

ETBU Calling Conference Inspires Tomorrow's Ministry Leaders

East Texas Baptist University hosted its annual Calling Conference on Wednesday, October 18, for students called to vocational ministry. The conference gives students the opportunity to learn from current ministers serving in various ministry fields as they discuss the call on their own lives and how that calling is informing their current ministries.

East Texas Baptist University Reflects on a Rich Tradition of See You at the Pole Gatherings

East Texas Baptist University participated in the nationally recognized See You at the Pole event on Wednesday, September 27. The special tradition on campus was coordinated by ETBU's Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) as a way for students, faculty, and staff to join the three million students in the United States and over 20 countries around the world in prayer at their school’s flagpole.

Texas Baptists Executive Director Julio Guarneri challenges ETBU students during campus visit

Julio Guarneri, Executive Director-elect of the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT), visited East Texas Baptist University on Monday, September 25, to deliver a special message during the weekly chapel service in Baker Chapel at the Rogers Spiritual Life Center. Guarneri, the lead pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen and first Hispanic individual to serve as executive director for the BGCT, challenged the campus community to reclaim the insurmountable peace only found through faith in Christ.
