ETBU Athletics shares joy and blessings through Operation Christmas Child

Each year, Samaritan’s Purse uses the Christmas season to share the Good News of Jesus Christ through their ministry, Operation Christmas Child. As part of the Samaritan’s Purse National Collection Week, East Texas Baptist University Tiger Athletics held the fourth annual Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Wrapping Party on Monday, November 18. Together, Tiger Athletics collected over 200 gift boxes for boys and girls through donations from over 400 student-athletes.

East Texas Baptist University teams up with Louisiana College to bless the needy

East Texas Baptist University and Louisiana College’s annual rivalry game on Saturday, November 16, doubled as an opportunity to help needy individuals in central Louisiana. To help stock Louisiana College’s Blessing Box, the Tiger Football team delivered 13 boxes of non-perishable food items and football fans from both schools gained free admission to Wildcat Field with the donation of canned goods.

Bob and Gayle Riley join ETBU Founders Society

East Texas Baptist University presented Bob and Gayle Riley with a Founders Society Award during halftime of the Tiger Football game on Saturday, November 9 in recognition of their generosity and faithful support of the University and its mission. Membership in the ETBU Founders Society is reserved for those who have contributed at least $100,000 to the University throughout their lifetime.

ETBU reveals statue honoring former Tiger Football players

East Texas Baptist University unveiled the “My Brother’s Keeper” bronze statue before the Tiger Football game on Saturday, November 9 at Ornelas Stadium. The statue was commissioned in memory of the lives of two freshmen Tiger Football players, Darrian "D.J." McClintock, Jr., and Norvontre "Tre" Harrison, who lost their lives during a tragic accident in April of 2016.
