How Sweet It Is: ETBU's Strong Defense Holds UNW in Check

NCAA BASKETBALL: STEVENS POINT, Wis. (3/13/15) - Showing the dominating play of a team effort, East Texas Baptist University held the University of Northwestern-St. Paul to just 30 percent shooting from the floor taking the Sweet 16 game, 70-46. ETBU now moves to their first-ever appearance in the Elite 8 on Saturday night.

"Our opponent was extremely well coached and they played with a lot of confidence as they came into the game with an 18-game winning streak" says head coach Bert West. "I was pleased with the game but we still have to make some improvements."

PERFECTION AT HOME: 22-Straight Wins & Trip to Sweet 16

NCAA DIII BASKETBALL:MARSHALL, Texas (3/7/15) - Pulling together their team concept in the second half and sticking together, the East Texas Baptist University men's basketball team (25-5) continued their magical season advancing to the Sweet 16 with an 80-75 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (22-7). It was the 22nd straight win for ETBU in Ornelas Gym as they finish the year at home a perfect 18-0. ETBU moves on to their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III National Tournament Sweet 16.

Tigers Win! Tigers Win! History Made at Ornelas

BASKETBALL (M): MARSHALL, Texas (2/28/15) - History happened on Saturday night as East Texas Baptist University won their 20th straight game in Ornelas Gym clinching their first-ever American Southwest Conference Tournament Championship, 82-71, over Concordia University-Texas. ETBU now receives their first-ever automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament and has won 13 of their last 14 games with 23 wins overall.

ETBU Symphonic Band Holds Concert on February 27th at 7:00 p.m.

MARSHALL, Texas (2/26/15) - The East Texas Baptist University Symphonic Band will be in concert on Friday, February 27, at 7:00 p.m. The Symphonic Band, under the direction of Mark Crim, will perform in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center located on campus at One Tiger Drive. The concert is free and the community is invited to attend.
  
The ETBU Symphonic Band is comprised of music majors studying to be professional musicians and music teachers as well as students from nearly every academic discipline.
