East Texas Baptist University proudly announces the successful reaccreditation of its Teague School of Nursing undergraduate program by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Following a comprehensive evaluation process, the program was found to be in compliance with all key elements and received no compliance concerns related to any of the standards of accreditation.
This achievement reflects the nursing program’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, high-quality nursing education, and preparation of Christ-centered, compassionate, practice-ready nurses equipped to meet the evolving healthcare needs of communities across Texas and beyond.
The CCNE reaccreditation process evaluates nursing programs on rigorous standards related to mission and governance, institutional commitment and resources, curriculum and teaching-learning practices, and student outcomes. Receiving full reaccreditation with no compliance concerns demonstrates the strength of the program’s leadership, faculty, curriculum, clinical partnerships, and student support systems.
The Teague School of Nursing also achieved a 100% first-time pass rate on the 2025 NCLEX-RN® licensure examination, demonstrating the program’s commitment to preparing graduates for successful entry into professional nursing practice.
“These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication of the university, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and clinical partners who work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards in nursing education,” Dean for the Teague School of Nursing at ETBU and Associate Professor of Nursing Dr. Nicole Fant said. “At ETBU, nursing is more than a profession – it is a calling to serve others as the hands and feet of Christ. Reaccreditation with no compliance concerns reflects the university’s steadfast commitment to investing in the success of our nursing students and ensuring they are prepared to provide exceptional, evidence-based care with a Christ-centered servant heart in today’s healthcare environment.”
University leadership noted that the reaccreditation outcome further validates ETBU’s mission to support the nursing program and the success of every student. Through faith-integrated education, innovative learning experiences, and strong clinical preparation, the university strives to develop nurses who embody both professional excellence and Christian character.
The reaccreditation affirms that graduates of the nursing program continue to receive an education that meets national standards for quality and integrity, positioning them for success on the NCLEX licensure examination, graduate education opportunities, and professional nursing practice.
“The accreditation process provides a vital opportunity to demonstrate academic excellence and cultivate continuous improvement,” Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Thomas Sanders said. “In the rare event that a decennial site visit results in zero areas of concern, it is a moment to reflect on the dedicated efforts of our faculty, staff, students, and community partners. This achievement, coupled with our 2025 NCLEX-RN pass rates, marks a significant institutional milestone. We are deeply grateful for Dr. Nicole Fant’s diligence and her commitment to Christian servant leadership; she truly embodies the excellence we strive for.”
East Texas Baptist University remains committed to advancing nursing education, expanding opportunities for student learning, and addressing the growing healthcare workforce needs throughout the region and nation.
