ETBU Assistant Professor of Nursing Dr. Antay Waters, DNP, APRN, CNM, WHNP-BC, CNE, CRNFA, C-OBE, C-EFM, CNOR-SURG-OB, FNPWH has been inducted as a Fellow in the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health (NPWH) in the inaugural class of 14 Fellows from across the United States at the 28th Annual NPWH Women’s Healthcare Conference in Las Vegas on October 1, 2025.

“The Teague School of Nursing is blessed to have Dr. Waters on faculty,” Dean of the Teague School of Nursing Nicole Fant said. “The knowledge and experience she provides to our students and to us as faculty is invaluable in advancing the nursing profession.”

Dr. Waters was also awarded the 2025 NPWH Inspiration in Women’s Health Award for Policy for her work as a Lead Legislative Ambassador for Texas Nurse Practitioners, as an appointed member of the Texas Perinatal Advisory Council, where she is tasked with developing and recommending maternal and neonatal care standards for clinical care settings across the state, and as a Texas AIM Implementation Mentor, where she leads efforts to implement evidence-based practices that improve maternal health outcomes statewide.

"I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from NPWH," Dr. Waters said. "Becoming a fellow represents not just personal achievement, but an opportunity to serve with greater impact. As Christian servant leaders in healthcare, we are called to use our gifts and platforms to uplift others and advance care for the most vulnerable. I look forward to continuing this work in women's health policy and maternal care, knowing that when we serve others with excellence and compassion, we fulfill our highest calling."
