Tiger Football Players Named Pre-Season All-Americans

NEW YORK, N.Y. (7/14/15) - Starting off the 2015 pre-season with seven All-Americans, East Texas Baptist University football is gearing up for a breakout season. Seven players were named USA Football Network NCAA Division III pre-season All-Americans on the first team, second team, third team, and honorable mention.

Josh Warbington, Kendall Roberson, and Tyler Bates are all on the pre-season first team. Warbington is a two-year starter that was a NCAA Division III Gagliardi semi-finalist last year. He has broken numerous ETBU single season and program records. Roberson was an All-ASC first team selection last year with 629 yards rushing and six touchdowns. Bates finished the year with 1,156 yards receiving (115.6 per game) and 11 receiving touchdowns as he was also an All-ASC first team selection.

Gaining All-American second team status is defensive back Dominque Bailey. The All-ASC second team selection in 2014 had three interceptions, five pass break ups and 34 tackles.

David Jaynes has been named to the All-American third team as the fifth player to receive pre-season All-American status. He finished last year with 31 tackles, three sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and a safety. He was an All-ASC honorable mention selection.

Jourdan McNeill and Xavier Davis are All-American honorable mention selections. McNeill rushed for 562 yards and six touchdowns and was an All-ASC honorable mention team member. Davis also had All-ASC honorable mention status with 23 tackles, four sacks, and seven quarterback hurries.

ETBU opens their season on Saturday, September 5th, hosting McMurry University at Ornelas Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
