ETBU Honors Students Named to Who Who's Among Students in American Universities & Colleges

MARSHALL, Texas  (3/11/15) - The Office of Academic Affairs at East Texas Baptist University held a reception for 15 students who will be included in the 2015 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.  The reception attended by family, faculty and friends of the honorees was held in the Woods Great Room of the Ornelas Student Center on Wednesday afternoon, March 4.
 
"ETBU had 227 Juniors and Senior who were eligible based on academic standing alone. Those names were presented to the faculty and you were selected by them as not only having good academic standing, but also strong leadership and character qualities as well," said ETBU Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Tommy Sanders to those gathered for the recognition.
 
Dr. Scott Ray, Dean of the Fred Hale School of Business, presented certificates to Kayla Cradit of Richmond, Business Administration & Marketing major; Levi Malone of Pilot Point, Business Administration major; and Paige Redmon of Randolph, Business Administration and Management major.
 
Dean Dr. Donna Dooley and Assistant Dean Dr. Joseph Brown of the School of Education recognized Jeanette Utterback of Rowlett, Kinesiology/Athletic Training major; Maranda Westbrook of Flint, All Level Kinesiology major; and Cordarius Williams of Marshall, All Level Kinesiology major.
 
Dr. Jerry Summers, Dean of the School of Humanities, honored three students Sarah Diffie of Marshall, English major; Cody Pruitt of Huffman, Mass Communication major; and Daniel Vaughan, English major.
 
Dean of the School of Natural and Social Sciences Dr. Lynn New recognized Tafadzwa Charuma of Garland, Psychology graduate; Joseph Meadows of Mountain Home, Ark, Chemistry major.; and Erin Slaughter of Longview, Math Education major.
 
Dr. Tom Webster, Dean of the School of Fine Arts, honored Shelbi Herndon of Marshall and Casey Papas of Marshall, Theatre Performance major.
 
Dean of the Frank S. Groner School of Profession Studies (Department of Nursing) Dr. Rebekah Grigsby recognized Josepsh McRee of Longview, Nursing major.
 
Since 1934, the Who's Who program has honored outstanding campus leaders for their scholastic and community achievements. The students from ETBU join other from more than 1,900 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and several foreign nations.
