ETBU School of Humanities Plans Trip to the Holy Land, May 11-23

February 6, 2015

MARSHALL, Texas (1/29/15) - Have you ever thought about "what is it like to walk where Jesus walked?"  The East Texas Baptist University School of Humanities is providing this "once in a life time opportunity" for the Marshall community to travel to Israel this May with students, and experience the wonders of the Holy Land in person.  The Holy Land trip is scheduled for May 11-23.

"Our students take the course, 'the History, Religion, and Politics of Israel', as their May term travel study course, but our ETBU and Marshall communities can join us without taking this class," said ETBU Professor of Political Science Dr. Israel Nandamudi.

This is not the first time that Dr. Nandamudi has taken a group like this to the Holy Land and he will be the leader of this year's trip as well. "We are leaving for Tel Aviv from Houston on the 11th of May and coming back to Houston on the 23, that is almost two weeks."

Dr. Nandamudi also said, "Many people from East Texas area ask me whether it is safe to travel in the Holy Land these days.  After travelling three times to this beautiful land, I can attest to the fact that it is the safest place that you can ever travel. We stay in Migdal (Mary Magdalena's birth place) which is overlooking the Sea of Galilee and it is too far away from Gaza where the current troubles are. Of course, our God has promised us that He will be with us till the end of the age. We need not worry about what happens over there. Once you are in the Holy Land, you will be transported across thousands of years, feel the Bible, and your faith comes alive as never before.  So, please don't miss this great opportunity!"

While in Israel, the group will visit the Holocaust museum in Jerusalem, travel to Mount Carmel, Bethlehem, Masada, Caesarea Philippi, the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee, Mount of Beatitudes, and such other Biblically significant places.

The trip cost to join the students is around $3,500, which includes airfare, transportation within Israel, lodging, boarding, required fees at the Holy sites. The deadline to make your reservation traveling to Israel with ETBU is February 6, 2015.
