ETBU's Dr. Lockard to Present Faculty Trumpet Recital

MARSHALL, Texas (1/14/15) - Dr. Douglas Lockard, Professor of Music at East Texas Baptist University, will present a faculty trumpet recital on Tuesday, January 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mabee Recital Hall located in the Jenna Guest Music Building on campus.  Admission is free. 

Dr. Lockard will perform "Concerto in E-flat" by F.J. Haydn, "Sonata in D" by Giuseppe Torelli, "Aria con Variazioni" by George Handel, "Rustiques" by Eugene Bozza, "Fanfare for St. Edmundsbury" by Benjamin Britten, "Aria" by Flor Peeters, and "The Magic Trumpet" by James Burke. He will be assisted by pianist Sharon Wilfong and trumpeters Mark Crim and Hunter Barrett.

Dr. Lockard earned degrees in music education and trumpet performance from Henderson State University, the University of North Texas, and the University of Texas at Austin. He has been a member of the faculty at East Texas Baptist University since 2001. He teaches studio trumpet, ear training, brass methods, jazz history, and directs the ETBU Jazz Band.
