When he's not in the courtroom litigating high profile patent cases, local attorney Sam Baxter is out in his community, advocating for children, supporting every endeavor he can, for the greater good.

The East Texas Baptist University Women’s Basketball team traveled to Jamaica from Wednesday, August 1 through Thursday, August 9 as a part of the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME) program. Led by Head Coach Rusty Rainbolt and ETBU Director of Global Education Lisa Seeley, the group of 27 partnered with Ignite International to minister to the people of Jamaica.

The East Texas Baptist University School of Nursing has attained a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for the fourth consecutive year. 

The East Texas Baptist University Music Department traveled to Peru as a part of the Global Study and Serve Program on Monday, July 2 through Monday, July 9. Led by ETBU Board of Trustees Chair and Wiseman Ministries Development Director Cary Hilliard, Dean of the School of Performing Arts and Communication Tom Webster, and First Baptist Church-Longview Children's Minister Angela Webster, the University Singers performed and ministered at public schools, community centers, and medical facilities. 

The East Texas Baptist University Enactus Team has partnered with the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) clients at Marshall's Community Healthcore (CHC) center to create a soap-making company, Heavenly Scents Soap Co. Students developed a marketing plan, obtained initial funding, created the website, and trained IDD clients to make artisanal glycerin and goats milk-based soap lines to sell to the public through craft shows, boutiques, and an online store.
