May 26, 2017

Earning his fourth All-American award for play, East Texas Baptist University baseball player Conner Combs has been named to the ABCA All-American second team. This is the second straight season being named an ABCA All-American. Earlier this week he was named a D3baseball.com All-American which was his second from that organization.

Combs had a stellar career at ETBU and this All-American award already adds to his numerous awards won. On top of his D3baseball.com All-American award, he was a two-time American Southwest Conference Player of the Year and a two-time All-ASC First-Team selection along with being a CoSIDA Academic All-District First-Team member. He also was voted HeroSports D3 Hero of the Year in their inaugural award that came out this week. Combs led the team in batting average (.400), runs (54), hits (70), doubles (12), and stolen bases (18). Combs also tied for the team lead with 10 homeruns, and drove in 45 runs.

Combs finished his ETBU career as the all-time leader in at-bats (638) and hits (216). He also ranks second all-time in runs (151), third in stolen bases (60), fourth in homeruns (32) and RBI (134), and sixth in doubles (35) and walks (71).

ETBU finished with a 30-15 record this season, and eclipsed the 30-win mark for the second straight season. ETBU baseball won the Red Division Bracket in the ASC Tournament, and played in the ASC Championship series for the first time in program history.
