BASKETBALL (M): MARSHALL, Texas (12/15/15) - Continuing to climb the national poll, the East Texas Baptist University men's basketball team jumped seven spots to #15 in the latest D3hoops.com. This is the third ranking for ETBU this season.
ETBU earned 195 points which is the most this year and was just 10 points off of being 14th. ETBU is 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the American Southwest Conference. Last week they picked up regional wins over Louisiana College and Rust College and now have 26-game home winning streak which is the best in NCAA Division III. The next closest is Whitworth College at 17 games.
Starting the preseason ranked 22nd, ETBU fell out in week one of the poll but then was 22nd in week two. Last year, ETBU finished 19th overall. This is the highest the team has been rated under head coach Bert West in the NCAA Division III era.
