ETBU Fred M. Hale School of Business Recognizes Top Students

MARSHALL, Texas (4/25/15) - The East Texas Baptist University Fred M. Hale School of Business honored students for the 2014-2015 academic year by recognizing top individuals in the program.  The annual year-end ceremony was held in the Hale School of Business Building on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.
 
Audrey Winders of Kingwood received the Fred M. Hale School of Business Academic Award for having the highest grade point average of 3.98.  She also received the Dean's Award chosen by the Dean of the School of Business and is deemed as most likely to succeed.
 
The Earl Thames Award for Christian Character, presented to the senior student in the School of Business that best expresses Christian character as a part of daily living, went to Levi Malone of Pilot Point. Dr. Thames was a professor of Accounting who was well loved by his students. The award was initiated upon his retirement from ETBU in 1998. Malone also received The Outstanding Student in Management Award. The award is given to the student who has excelled in the field of management.
 
The Dr. Edwin F. Moore Award for Outstanding Student in Economics went to Samantha Jackson of Mineola. This award is presented to the student who has excelled in the field of economic study. Dr. Moore served as chairman of the Department of Business until his retirement in 1978.
 
International student Ying "Candy" Xie was named the Outstanding Student in Accounting.  This award is given to the student who has excelled in the field of accounting.
 
The Outstanding Student in Marketing Award, given to the student who has excelled in the field of marketing, went to Kayla Cradit of Richmond.  She also received the Alpha Mu Alpha Marketing Honor Society award.
 
Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society members were recognized. They are Letica Manriquez of Ore City, Edee Turner of Marshall, Leyah Neuman of Devine, international student Ying "Candy"  Xie, and Kayla Horn of  Tomball.
 
ETBU will hold its spring commencement on Saturday, May 2 with two ceremonies, 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Graduates from the Fred M. Hale School of Business will participate in the 10:30 a.m. ceremony.
