LC Slips Past ETBU With Strong Second Half
BASKETBALL (W): ALEXANDRIA, La. (1/13/15)- With tonight?s contest against Louisiana College wrapping up a six game road trip for the ETBU women?s basketball team, the team was hoping to create a little momentum heading into this week?s games at Ornelas Gym. Early on, LC jumped out to a 15-7 lead, but ETBU matched that with a 15-7 run of their own to tie the game at 22 with 8:16 to go in the half. The last eight minutes of the half followed the pattern of LC getting a lead, then ETBU caught up and tied it, but was never able to go ahead. LC started quickly in the second half, leading by as many as nine; but ETBU didn?t give up. After chipping away at the nine point lead ETBU took the lead at 69-68 with 7:10 left in the game. It was their first lead since 2-1 with 17:46 left in the first half. ETBU looked poised to steal the game. Undeterred, ETBU got within two during the last 95 seconds but couldn?t take the lead during that stretch and ultimately fell in a hard fought game 90-84.
