ETBU Department of Theatre Arts Presents Iphigenia 2.0 by Charles Mee, April 16-19

MARSHALL, Texas (4/14/15) - The Department of Theatre Arts at East Texas Baptist University proudly presents their spring production - Iphigenia 2.0 by Charles Mee. Performances will be in the Black Box Theatre of the Jenna Guest Music Building.  Dates are April 16 at 7:30 p.m., April 17 at 8:00 p.m., April 18 at 7:30 p.m., and April 19 at 2:30 p.m.

As the Greek armies prepare for their expedition against the city of Troy, the soldiers refuse to embark until King Agamemnon makes a sacrifice, and the sacrifice they demand is his daughter, Iphigenia.  The play is a modern adaptation of the ancient Greek tragedy Iphigenia at Aulis by Euripides; the playwright, Charles Mee, uses historical and contemporary events, dance, and pop culture to create a unique theatrical experience.  

Directed by senior Caroline Donica of Longview, the cast includes faculty, staff, students, and community members.
