Tiger Football Player Shines at National Bowl
It was a fine day for the East Texas Baptist University football team on Sunday, December 8th, in Miami, Fla. as they were represented in the National Bowl All-Star game. Three coaches and Jamaine Sherman participated in the all-star game helping the Red Nation to a 40-26 win.
Sherman finished with four catches and one touchdown being named the Red Nation offensive MVP. He was also the Red Nation’s team captain. Sherman played one year for ETBU and broke the single season record for yards receiving and was voted onto the All-ASC first-team. He lead the ASC in yards receiving and was in the top 10 in receptions.
Scotty Walden, Lee Grimes, and Robert Churchman all coached for the Red Nation. Walden was the offensive coordinator for the Red Nation under former NFL coach Mike Stock.
