Dean of Admissions
The Dean of Admissions is responsible for the recruitment of new students to the University, and the facilitating of on-campus and off-campus recruiting events. This involves developing an overall strategy for recruiting, hiring, and supervision of Admissions Counselors and support staff, traveling to school campuses to provide students with information about their academic program, develop a budget spending plan and administrate its spending, and creating marketing materials. The Dean shall evaluate the credentials of applicants to the University deciding which students shall be granted admission status.
The Dean of Admissions must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord, and who holds solely to the Holy Bible as sacred Scriptures. Specific skills include knowledge of federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations regarding student recruitment, interpersonal communication, organizational habits, and the ability to relate to a variety of individuals on a professional level.  Must have strong computer knowledge, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Slate, and other software as required. Applicants must possess a strong commitment to the mission of East Texas Baptist University and the distinctive of Christian higher education.  The University is seeking individuals who are willing to make a long-term commitment.
Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of recruiting and/or admissions experience in a four-year university setting; master’s degree preferred.
