"My education at ETBU prepared me for medical school at Texas A&M and shaped my worldview in an incredible way. I was challenged academically and spiritually during my time on the Hill, and I would put my education up against any other school.”
As a freshman hoping to pursue a degree in music, Dr. Greg Whaley never could have imagined he would earn a degree in biology and go on to serve as a Commander in the US Navy.
"I always thought I would pursue a degree in music," Whaley said." But while I was at ETBU, I grew in my understanding of God's call on my life and knew I needed to pursue a career in medicine."
It was through meeting local physicians who were committed Christians that Dr. Whaley saw the impact believers could have on the world through the healthcare field.
“I never dreamed I would be a radiologist,” Whaley said. “But my education at ETBU prepared me for medical school at Texas A&M and shaped my worldview in an incredible way. I was challenged academically and spiritually during my time on the Hill, and I would put my education up against any other school.”
Today, Dr. Whaley is the Department Head of Radiology and the Vice Chair of the Medical Executive Committee at the Naval Medical Center in North Carolina. He and his wife, Magean, have three children: Jackson, Luke, and Emmie.
