THE LEGACY OF 1912 SOCIETY

Throughout the history of East Texas Baptist University, God has blessed us with generations of faithful supporters of Christian education. Many alumni and donors have chosen to include the institution in their estate planning. In 2012, the University established the Legacy of 1912 Society to recognize individuals who made the commitment to place ETBU in their wills and other planned giving. The Legacy of 1912 Society is named in honor of the year the charter was signed establishing ETBU’s forerunner, the College of Marshall as a Christian higher education institution.

The Legacy of 1912 Society comprises alumni and friends who, through thoughtful estate planning, deferred giving, and other forms of planned giving, ensure that resources will be available to support ETBU far into the future. Planned gifts include wills, annuities, trusts, and life insurance policies. These gifts have established endowed scholarship and chairs and funded new and improved facilities. The impact of your own planned gift, which qualifies you for membership in the Legacy of 1912 Society, will impact generations of future Christian servant leaders at ETBU. A new donor recognition display in the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center will pay tribute to members of the Legacy of 1912 Society.
