Maverick University - ETBU at Marshall High School


Maverick University is a true expression of Marshall Proud - Maverick Strong. Through ETBU's Maverick University, high school juniors and seniors are able to take up to 27 hours in the familiar and comfortable surroundings of their own classrooms with faculty members who have doctorates in their fields of study. These course will be transferable to any university and share the same course codes with other colleges and universities in Texas. These courses are being offered in cooperation with Marshall Education Foundation at a discounted rate of $50 per semester hour. Student books are being provided by Marshall Independent School district at no cost to students. Important Dates for Mav-U Students for Fall 2017:

Monday, May 8, 2017 - Registration Begins
Tuesday, August 1, 2017 - All paperwork due in Admissions Office
Monday, August 28, 2017 - Classes Begin and First Payment Due


The cost for Maverick University courses is $50 per credit hour ($150 per course for a three hour course). You may pay online here, Payment Information or in person at the ETBU Business Office (2nd floor of Marshall Hall). 

Required Forms for Maverick University Classes for Fall 2017:

  • High School Transcript (minimum GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale)
  • Standardized Test Scores (SAT or ACT)

Maverick University Classes for Fall 2017:

  • MATH 2302 - Calculus II
  • MATH 1314 - College Algebra
  • ENGL 1302 - Rhetoric and Composition II (must have C or better in ENGL 1301)
  • SPCH 1311 - Speech Communication
  • HIST 1302 - U.S. History Since 1877
