Sara Braun is the Vice President for Communication and Strategic Initiatives at East Texas Baptist University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Oklahoma Baptist University and an M.Ed. in Higher Education - Sport Administration from East Central University.
Prior to joining the ETBU staff, Sara spent 15 years in collegiate athletics administration. She most recently served at Rogers State University as the Senior Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator. Throughout her 12 years at RSU, Sara monitored Title IX and gender equity compliance for the athletic department, served as a senior member of the Director of Athletics’ executive team, and provided oversight to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, athletic department graduate assistants, and student internship program. She was instrumental in helping RSU through the NCAA Division II membership process and had oversight of the university’s licensing agreement.
Sara coordinated the athletic department’s fundraising efforts, including the Hillcat Club and corporate sponsorships. She supervised the department's marketing, promotions, and event management staff. Additionally, she spearheaded the athletic department’s community engagement efforts, guided the social media platforms for the Hillcats, and was the department's liaison to University Marketing and Communications.
Sara is passionate about higher education and helping students live out their God-given purposes.
