About ETBU

Meet John Vance

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations. Psalm 100:1-5 (KJV)

John Vance leads the Media Services team at ETBU. Before beginning his journey on the Hill, John served for four years as Technical Director at First Baptist Bossier Church. At eleven, he began his music passion, audio production, while working for a local production company. His passion was clear at that time, and he has continued learning and growing in this field, as well as helping others do so. John has a passion for great audio like no other. Just spend ten minutes with him, and you'll understand. That passion can be seen every day here at ETBU. As he puts it, U2 started it off for him. They just hit him straight in his DNA. John's career has spanned over 20 years from the live world, mixing front of house, production managing, to engineering studio albums. He's still involved in the daily operation for his production company. He is glad that the skill set he earned from a young age has allowed him to serve in ministry at the University. John loves to represent the story of ETBU through his work and hopes that this story impacts people for the Kingdom. He lives in Bossier with his wife, Elizabeth, two sons, Aidan and Will, and his daughter, Emily.
