Meet Dr. Shannon Wolf

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls." 1 Peter 1:3-9

Dr. Shannon Wolf is a professor of Psychology and Counseling for B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary at East Texas Baptist University. Dr. Wolf has published several works, including a chapter on human trafficking in Treating Trauma in Christian Counseling (2017). She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology and Counseling (2008) and her M.A. in Marriage and Family Counseling (2003) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Before serving as a full-time faculty member at Carroll Seminary, Dr. Wolf directed the Counseling Ministry at Southcliff Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, for 20 years. She is known as an expert in trauma and multicultural counseling. Dr. Wolf speaks both nationally and internationally on the topic of human trafficking, and she frequently testifies in state and federal trials involving child and adolescent trafficking victims.

Before becoming a professor, Dr. Wolf and her husband served as church planters in Budapest, Hungary, and Banja Luka, Bosnia. They continue to share the Gospel of Christ locally and through short-term missions. Their current mission field is in and around a Southern Baptist Church southwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where Mr. Wolf serves as the Senior Pastor, and together they, along with their church family, are reaching the community for Christ.
