Meet Dr. Amber Daub

"The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me." Psalm 138:8

Dr. Amber Daub joined East Texas Baptist University as Dean of the School of Education in 2021. Prior to that, she served as a public school teacher, assistant principal, principal, curriculum director, and, ultimately, the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Throughout that time, she has also taught in an adjunct capacity at Stephen F. Austin State University as well as at ETBU.

Dr. Daub was born and raised in East Texas, attending Stephen F. Austin State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Following graduation from SFASU, Dr. Daub began her teaching career in Plano ISD at the elementary level, moving from there to Corpus Christi where she moved to the secondary level as a teacher first, then an administrator. While living in Corpus Christi, Amber earned her Master of Science in Educational Administration and Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

Dr. Daub and her husband moved home to East Texas in 2007. They have two sons, Hudson and Harrison. The Daub family are active members of First United Methodist Church in Hallsville and are highly involved in the community at large. They still call Hallsville home and are excited to join the ETBU Tiger Family!

Dr. Amber Daub believes strongly in the power of education and the difference it makes in the life of every student. She is a collaborative leader who thrives on developing strong teams who work in effective systems of student support. In 2011, Dr. Daub was named Middle School Principal of the Year for the State of Texas and attributes this collaborative philosophy to this and other awards and achievements. She is eager to apply this approach to the process of teacher training and preparation!
