Dr. Scott Bryant, University Chaplain & Vice President for Spiritual Development
Scott Bryant was born in Ohio but was raised in Texas. He is a graduate of Baylor University (B.A., M.Div, Ph.D.) and Boston University's School of Theology (S.T.M). He is a licensed and ordained Baptist Minister and has served churches in both Massachusetts and Texas. Prior to his arrival at ETBU he taught in the Religion Department and Honors College at Baylor University.
Scott is husband to Natalie and father to Anna, Luke, and Reid. Scott enjoys coaching his kids sports teams, playing basketball, and watching Tom Brady, Dirk Nowitzki, and the Texas Rangers.
Dr. Lisa Seely, Director of the Great Commission Center
Lisa Seely comes to Marshall from the Dallas Fort Worth area. Born in Germany and raised in Indiana and Ohio, she moved to Texas in 1995. Lisa earned a Master of Arts in Missions and Church History from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. Lisa worked in the Missions department at SWBTS for eleven years and taught history, missions, and graduate research and writing for Dallas Baptist University before coming to ETBU.
Lisa has been married to Scott since 1984; is the mother of three girls, Sara, Caitlin, and Rebecca; and grandmother to Peyton and Christian. She enjoys reading, working out, and learing Tae Kwan Do from her husband. Lisa claims Philippians 4:13 and Proverbs 3:5-6 as life verses.
Mark Yates, Director for Baptist Student Ministries
Alternating between two States through most of his childhood and adult life, Mark claims both California and Texas as "home." He and his wife Stacy have four children: Courtney, Shelby, Ethan, and Amanda. The entire family enjoys sports and outdoor activities. They are active members of Central Baptist Church in Marshall
Mark is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University (B.A.) and Louisiana State University-Shreveport (M.Ed.) and has additional hours from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He has spent more than 25 years in various avenues of student ministry serving Baptist Churches and Agencies. His passion for student ministry revolves around his life verse, 2 Timothy 2:1-2. "You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others." His continued desire is to "grow strong" in his personal spiritual walk and to use those things which the Lord has afforded him to reach and disciple others to do the same.
Wanda Daily, Administrative Assistant
Wanda Daily was born in Texas, raised in rural Marshall, and introduced to the Savior through her parents via home Bible study, as well as, ultra church attendance. She is a wife (Bruce), mother (Anya, Braunda, and Bruce II), and grandmother (Celeste, Nyla, & Jermichael).
Referring to herself as "A Jill of all trades, master of none," Wanda is a graduate of Wiley College (Business Administration) with a desire to continue her planned learning through a Masters program in education. She enjoys fishing, gardening, sewing, sports play-offs and anything that leads to good family fun!
Psalms 91 and Jude are Wanda's favorite chapters in the Bible. John 3:16-17 are her most used outreach scriptures. Psalms 139:17-18 "How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!" and Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me." are two of her favorite passages of scripture.
