| ETBU's Ashton Brey named Academic All-American |
MARSHALL, Texas (5/22/12) – East Texas Baptist University softball senior student-athlete Ashton Brey, of Lindale, has been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Softball Team announced Tuesday. It’s the second straight year that Brey has been named an Academic All-American. The senior pitcher/outfielder, who finished her career with the Tigers this season, graduated from ETBU this month with a perfect 4.0 GPA as an undergraduate and will enter the university’s graduate program in the fall. | Three Tigers named NFCA All-West Region |
 MARSHALL, Texas (5/17/12) – ETBU placed three players on the 2012 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-West Region team released this week. Sophomore right-hander Kaylee Davis and freshman outfielder Kayla Garcia were named to the second-team All-West Region, while senior pitcher/outfielder was named an at-large selection to the third-team.
