| LEWISVILLE, Texas (4/13/12) -- East Texas Baptist University's men's soccer team traveled to Lewisville last weekend to help with a Special Olympics event hosted by the annual Panda Cup International Soccer Tournament. Fourteen members of the Tigers, accompanied by head coach Jose Alonzo and his staff, took part in conducting soccer drills and small side games for the 25-30 Special Olympians in attendance at the event. MARSHALL, Texas (11/8/11) – Four members of East Texas Baptist University’s men’s soccer team have been named to the 2011 All-American Southwest Conference team. Sophomore midfielder Juan Ramirez (pictured), freshman forward Christian Garcia, junior forward Pete Fitzsimmons and senior defender Chad Cox were named to the All-ASC team.

MARSHALL, Texas (11/2/11) – As the only head soccer coach the East Texas Baptist University men’s soccer program has ever known, and with two national championships on his resume, Jose Alonzo doesn’t like to talk about moral victories especially at the end of a five-win season. But if anything can be positive about a 5-13 finish in 2011, it’s the fact there are positives everywhere for a team that scratched together just two victories in the 2010 season. STORY
