ETBU’s Great East Texas Hymn Sing Unites Generations

East Texas Baptist University hosted its 14th annual Great East Texas Hymn Sing on Friday, September 20, at Baker Chapel in the Rogers Spiritual Life Center. The event brought together hundreds of participants, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, community members, and churches from across East Texas and neighboring states, for an afternoon of worship, fellowship, and a shared celebration of Christian faith.

Executive Director of the Baptist Standard Dr. Eric Black encourages ETBU Community

East Texas Baptist University welcomed Dr. Eric Black to campus on Wednesday, September 18, as guest speaker for the midweek Chapel service. Dr. Black, the Executive Director, Publisher, and Editor of the Baptist Standard, delivered a message to the ETBU students, faculty, and staff, drawing from his extensive background in ministry, media, and theological education.

East Texas Baptist University Crowns 68th Miss ETBU

East Texas Baptist University held the annual Miss ETBU Pageant on Saturday, September 14, in Baker Chapel at the Rogers Spiritual Life Center on the ETBU campus. Sponsored by ETBU’s Student Government Association, this long-standing tradition highlights the exceptional qualities of the University’s female students, showcasing their commitment to Christian values, poise, and scholarship.

ETBU Nursing Students Awarded Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship

Students from East Texas Baptist University’s Teague School of Nursing were recently honored with the Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship, generously provided by the Jerry and Jack Cargill family in partnership with ETBU. A total of 31 local nursing students were recognized during a ceremony held at the Marshall Grand on Wednesday, September 11, with ETBU accounting for 22 of the recipients.

ETBU enters into 2024-2025 academic year with Convocation

East Texas Baptist University held its annual Convocation chapel service on Monday, September 9, welcoming students, faculty, and staff to Baker Chapel for a time of worship, prayer, and dedication to officially launch the 2024-2025 academic year. Through Convocation, the University provides students with a greater understanding of the Christ-centered mission of ETBU and God's purposes for each Tiger student by sharing the values, core commitments, and traditions of the institution.
