Dr. Gerald Nissley Jr., PsyD, LP
Dr. Nissley is a licensed as a clinical psychologist and has actively served and worked in direct service, supervision, consulting, teaching, and research. He joined the faculty at East Texas Baptist University in 2011, where he has facilitated courses in counseling and clinical psychology. He has over ten years of experience providing psychological services to adults, children, and families. More recently, he has been consulting with non-profit clinics that provide assessment and intervention to uninsured and underinsured children and their families
Dr. Tom Haygood, Ph.D, LPCS, LMFT
Dr. Haygood is licensed as a professional counselor, professional counselor supervisor, and marriage and family therapist in Texas, and has maintained a private practice in Tyler, Texas, since 1982. The emphasis of his counseling practice has been in marriage and family therapy, but has also performed life coaching and consulting as well. He has served previously as an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Union University and Executive Director of Grace Counseling Center in San Antonio, Texas. He also served for three years as a Miltary and Family Life Consultant for the United States' Army and Air Force. Previously, Dr. Haygood served as an Intentional Interim Pastor and Leadership Consultant with the United Methodist Church.
Rachel Olshine, M.Ed, LPC
Rachel Olshine is a licensed professional counselor and student development specialist at ETBU. She joined the ETBU family in 2013. Prior to that she was serving as a counselor to adolescents at Heartlight Ministries in Hallsville, TX. Prior to that Rachel worked at Clemson University with the Early Success Program while pursuing her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Rachel has worked with adolescents and young adults, both in group and individual therapy settings and is passionate about working with students in different steps of life.
The counseling center also serves as a practicum site for ETBU students in the Master of Arts Counseling Program. They are supervised by Dr. Tom Haygood and Dr. Gerald Nissley.
