The Instructional Services department of Jarrett Library is responsible for teaching users the most effective ways of using the library. The backbone of this instruction is based on the principle of information literacy.
Library Instruction sessions are often done through classroom sessions at the request of the faculty, but instruction may also include one-on-one assistance, online tutorials, guides and pamphlets, etc.

What is Information Literacy?
According to the National Forum on Information Literacy, the definition of the term is: "The ability to know when there is a need for information, to be able to identify, locate, evaluate, and effectively use that information for the issue or problem at hand."
