Policy Statement
The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness serves as the liaison with the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), responsible for monitoring all aspects of the accreditation requirements of the Commission.
Facts of Interest
• The director of the OIRE serves on the Leadership Team for the reaffirmation of accreditation.
• The director is responsible for monitoring the latest accreditation requirements of SACS,
including providing guidance in substantive changes in the institution's programs.
Procedures
• Each fall the OIRE compiles the information required for the annual SACS Institutional Profile.
This report is prepared for the President who submits it to SACS.
• The OIRE director attends the annual meeting of the Commission on Colleges in order to stay
informed of COC/SACS issues and interests.
