Galloway To Be Inducted Into LA Tech Hall of Fame
East Texas Baptist University assistant softball coach, Bill Galloway will be inducted into the Louisiana Tech Athletics Hall of Fame this Saturday (Nov. 9) in Ruston, La.
Galloway has been at ETBU since 2003. He first served as a part-time assistant coach for ETBU. When Janae Shirley was named the head coach of the Lady Tigers in 2007, her first move was to promote Galloway to a full-time assistant coach. Of course, Galloway was a part of the Lady Tiger coaching staff when ETBU won the NCAA Division III National Softball Championship in 2010.
In Galloway’s 21 seasons at LA Tech, he coached the Lady Techsters to 17 winning seasons, including a pair of 50-plus win seasons, eight trips to the NCAA Tournament and three trips to the NCAA Women’s College World Series. Before his days at LA Tech, he lead Texas A&M to three straight top five finishes in the AIAW ranks. Galloway as a head coach has 934 career wins and was inducted into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Hall of Fame in 2001.
“What an honor it is for us to have not just a Hall of Famer on our staff but a two- time hall of famer,” shared Shirley. “I have been so fortunate as a young coach to have such great knowledge and experience at my fingertips every day. I am thankful for everything he has taught me and the level of excellence he has helped our program reach. He is not just an amazing coach, but an amazing friend and mentor. The Tiger softball family is so proud about his induction into the Louisiana Tech Hall of Fame.”
