Senior Tiger soccer player Peter Fitzsimmons has been named the American Southwest Conference Men’s Offensive Player of the Week for games played October 21-26. Fitzsimmons (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East HS) scored seven points vs. Howard Payne in a 7-1 win to keep ETBU’s hopes alive for the ASC Tournament. Fitzsimmons recorded a hat trick as he kicked a career-high three goals in the 20th, 50th, and 59th minutes. He had an assist in the 57th minute on Christian Garcia’s third goal and against Hardin-Simmons he had one shot on goal.

Other good Tiger news:

ETBU Volleyball will make its league-leading 12th tournament appearance as Coach Lindsay Mashe’s team is seeded number three in the upcoming American Southwest Conference Volleyball Tournament, November 7-9. The ASC tournament will be hosted by the University of Texas at Dallas, the number one seed. ETBU (25-7, ASC 14-4) will play No. 6 Concordia Texas (11-18, ASC 7-11) on Nov. 7th at noon in the opening game of the double elimination tournament.

A Tiger football single game record was broken by receiver Tyler Bates this past Saturday in Brownwood as they played Howard Payne University. Bates had a great receiving day with career high 17 receptions. He breaks the single game ETBU record of 14 set by Kwame’ Spikes last year vs. Willamette.
