ETBU Soccer Player Danica Saxon Named to All Region Team

ETBU senior Danica Saxon has been a staple on the soccer field for several years.  There’s a great reason why.

She’s good.

Want proof?  How about the fact that she was named to the  2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division III All-West Region team following her final season with the Tigers last fall.

A four-year midfielder for ETBU who ended her career ranked among ETBU career leaders in goals, assists and points, was named second-team All-West Region, she was one of just 10 players from the American Southwest Conference named to the all-region team, which includes Division III teams from Texas to the West Coast.

She ended her career with four All-ASC awards and was also a member of the ASC All-Academic team every year of her eligibility.

What’s more is that she has been chosen to receive a scholarship toward her postgraduate studies by the NCAA Women’s Enhancement Program.  She will receive a $6,000 award as part of the NCAA Women’s Enhancement Program Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics.

We are so proud of Danica, and while we are sad to see her move on to the next chapter in her life after graduation in May, we are honored that she is a member of the Tiger Family!

Way to go Danica!  GO BLUE!
